I was up against the wonderful Torstein Nordstrand, who is a fantastic artist. I opted to do this pin-up as part of an ongoing thing, and Torstein kindly agreed. The theme was The Journey, and mine is a pretty loose interpretation of that... It's kind of finished, but I might come back and tweak it some more some time.

Her name is Cheryl, and sadly her 1986 Ford Capri Laser has got a flat in the middle of no-where near Wookey Hole in Somerset. What is she going to do? The more air she pumps in, the flatter the tyre gets! Time to stick that thumb out and hope for a ride somewhere...
This was done for a tutorial in this months ImagineFX. She's part of a story I've got floating around about two angel/demon sisters, one of whom wishes to be human. Her name is Astarre, her sister being Estella. She's meant to be a bit, er... unstable... I've fiddled a small amount with the version that is in ImagineFX but not a lot. I tried to be a bit more 'painty' with this one. Some things I wasn't sure about, but I had a hard drive crash in the middle of doing this so the version I have here is the one I had to go with.

This is an older pic I tidied up a bit. It started out as something else completely different. Nothing vastly different from me, another winged girl...
This is Estella. Ringmistress of one of the lesser levels of Hell. Her family fell with Lucifer, but he's kind of forgotten about them a bit now. Estella is a bit flambuoyant, and enjoys camping it up a bit, but her heart is pure black sin, and there is no thing of goodness about her. However, she has a sister, Astarre; who is not quite right in the head. Astarre is the antithesis of Estella, who is herself is one of the fallen, she wishes for nothing more than to be settled down on Earth with a nice human male. Dead or alive, either way, she's easy... But Estella has other ideas for her sister…

I shall do Astarre next. I should have spent a bit more time on the BG really, but I wanted it very dark anyway. There are a couple of things I might change yet, but I thought I'd put it here anyway.
She's based on 'Rosie the Riveter' by Norman Rockwell, of whom I'm a huge admirer. I used reference for the drill; as whilst looking for ideas I discovered a brand called Rockwell, so couldn't resist it! To dirty things up I used a personal texture overlay on the drum and drill, otherwise all painted in Photoshop 7.
This is the first idea based on the 'Saturday Evening Post' Rockwell image, as a magazine cover, and below you can see it without text and a close-up.
The Dark Winter

Dunno what I was doing with this pic really. It kind of started out out as a tribute to one of my favourite artists, Tor Lundvall. It's meant to be a bit stylised and dark, but perhaps I should have just stuck bunny ears on her... If there's a story to it I haven't a clue what it is other than it involves spooky stuff.
Critiques welcome!
Oops... slight edit! I put the wrong one up...
